Can Alabama A&M's Hadiyah-Nicole Green Build a Billion Dollar Cancer Research Foundation?

Alabama A&M University alumna and Morehouse School of Medicine professor Hadiyah-Nicole Green captured national headlines in 2016 when news broke of her million-dollar cancer treatment grant award she received while working at Tuskegee University.

A year later, Dr. Green remains immersed in the important work that has defined her personal and professional life, and spurred her to create the the Ora Lee Smith Cancer Foundation. But with millions of dollars and hits on social media, Dr. Green still remains active in the effort to raise money for funded treatment research.
The researcher is proven and the cure needs to be discovered now. And while foundations like the Susan G. Komen Foundation and others have raised and spent billions on research, Dr. Green believes that black communities, disparately impacted by the effects of cancer, have an opportunity to do the same.
She discussed this prospect and much more as a part of latest HBCU Voices of STEM Excellence series.
