Dillard University alumna Ayo Davis has been named head of casting for ABC Entertainment, the production division overseeing development for popular shows like like ‘black-ish,’ ‘Scandal’ and ‘How to Get Away With Murder.’
Deadline.com reports on the promotion for Davis, who had served in the role on an interim basis since November. Executives with ABC Entertainment praised Davis’ work over 13 years in the division, and her contributions in overseeing casting for nearly all of the network’s popular primetime scripted programming.
“Ayo has done an amazing job identifying and bringing new talent into the fold for both the studio and network,” said (ABC Entertainment President Channing) Dungey. “Her keen eye and proven track record make her perfect for this position.”
