Carver High has hired former Alabama State University coach Reggie Barlow as its new football coach, Carver principal Christopher Lindsey confirmed Wednesday afternoon by text message.
Barlow was offered the position just prior to Christmas, but at that time Lindsey said that the hiring was “unofficial until he clears through MCSD human resources.”
The position came open after Joseph Kegler stepped away after three seasons. He led the Tigers for three seasons, going 28-7 with two region championships, but the team was knocked out of the state playoffs in the first round each of the past two seasons.
