Morgan State Student Stabbed, Killed; Third Campus Stabbing in Less Than a Year

A Morgan State University student is dead after being stabbed outside of an apartment complex adjacent to the campus last night.

Gerald Williams, a 20-year-old sophomore, was pronounced dead at Johns Hopkins Hospital after being stabbed near the groin area following a group fight outside of the Morgan View Apartment Complex just before 10 p.m.

No suspects have been announced in connection to the case, the third stabbing incident on or near campus in the lat year. Last March, three football players were injured in the courtyard of an on-campus apartment complex during a group fight, the second of two stabbing incidents that week.

According to reports, university officials did not send out text alerts for either of the last two stabbing incidents. It is the fifth incident of violence proximate to the campus since 2012, when two men, including a football player, were shot during the fall semester
