Morris Brown fully accredited for the first time in 20 years

More than 20 years after losing its accreditation following financial issues and lost student enrollment, Morris Brown College has been unanimously approved as a member of the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools Accreditation Commission (TRACS).

The news was first broken by the African Methodist Episcopal Church through its Christian Recorder publication.

The accreditation announcement fully authorizes Morris Brown’s eligibility to receive federal funding for student financial aid and research.

Over the last twenty years, the Sixth District has provided millions of dollars as a lifeline for Morris Brown College. Many times clergy and laity wondered if it was worth it or why we kept on raising money without seeing progress. But you kept on giving and now the doors of Morris Brown College will be open for countless numbers of students to get an education.”

– Bishop Reginald T. Jackson, Chairman & Presiding Prelate – 6th District
