The National Football League, Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and Southwestern Athletic Conference today announced a partnership to encourage professional development in sports management and operations.
The league will offer internships, clinics, and event-based training modules across a number of disciplines in sports medicine, equipment management, athletic training, coaching and administration, with a goal of increasing diversity in professional football careers.
“Our partnership with the MEAC and SWAC is not only important for our pipeline of qualified individuals at all levels of football, but also to improve the NFL’s goals for diversity and inclusion,” said NFL Executive Vice President of Football Operations Troy Vincent. “With this partnership, we are making steady progress in developing future coaches, officials, scouts, managers, front office personnel and others through effective football resources, educational programs and internships.”
The league will also provide internships for students majoring in sports management, for participating schools in the annual postseason Celebration Bowl.
