Cast members from the groundbreaking sitcom, ‘A Different World’ will reunite at Norfolk State University next month to promote college access.
Actors Kadeem Hardison, Jasmine Guy, Cree Summer, Charnele Brown and Darryl Bell will meet with NSU faculty and students and area high schools for a registration fair and college tour on April 16, beginning at 3pm. Proceeds from the event will benefit the ACCESS College Foundation.
Critically acclaimed in the early 1990’s for its broaching of controversial subjects like social justice, domestic violence, HIV/AIDS and the emergence of historically black colleges into mainstream pop culture, ‘A Different World’ helped to encourage college enrollment and graduation for a generation of black college students.
Without question my favorite show of all time. Next to the Cosby show. We used to all gather around tv in my dorm and watch this show. Loved every episode from the beginning.
