U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson gave remarks today at the agency’s headquarters this morning to members of its student programs and fellowships, with the focus of the talk on building diversity within the department’s domestic and foreign service ranks.
His remarks followed a specific denouncement of racist ideology and mistreatment of citizens through hate and discrimination. The highlights on HBCU impact begin at the 3:19 mark.

Please leave her alone. Enough negative publicity already. The business at hand should be educating our children.
Dam! So much for the honeymoon. Judge Judy/Mabeline get ready cuz they are headed to divorce court.
I’m always apprehensive of “black greeks” (I know real Black Greeks from Greece so I have to put that in quotes) who are in visible positions of power at a HBCU. I’ve seen too many times where they’ll use that platform to further more the agenda of their perspective frat or soror then that of their HBCU. Fortunately my HBCU isn’t in that precarious position with the most important role on campus.
But I truly believe it’s one of the reasons why so many HBCUs are not reaching their full potential. A conflict of interest that is killing our HBCUs.
