Southern University announced this evening that vice-president of Student Affairs Brandon Dumas, an executive at the center of an alleged sex tape controversy, has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
University officials announced the leave via Facebook, and named interim Executive Vice-President and Provost Luria Young as the administrator with charge over the division until further notice.
In April, Southern University System Chancellor Ray Belton responded to a petition created by Southern alumni calling for an investigation of the student affairs division, pledging that an assessment of unit would be completed in the near future. No results of the assessment were ever made public.
Dr. Dumas was a finalist for the Paine College presidency.
