Virginia State University’s interim president will not stay on after Dec. 31 and has withdrawn as a candidate for consideration by the presidential search committee.
In a letter to the board, Pamela V. Hammond said she will not renew the one-year contract she was awarded in November, invoking a provision requiring 60-day notice for non-renewal.
