Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam signed into law this week a bill designed to help the state’s public and private HBCUs to communicate strengths and needs to lawmakers.
The bill creates a consortium of the schools to advocate through a statewide initiative designed to increase private and public investment in black colleges, with function similar to the federal White House Initiative on HBCUs.
